Doubling the size of their digs to an impressive 200,000 square feet, the new OpenRoad Toyota dealership in Richmond, BC redefines the OpenRoad brand and customer experience.

Celebrating both the OpenRoad and Toyota brands, the overall environment speaks to the Canadian west coast, instilling a sense of calmness and comfort for a low-stress, unpressured experience. Smart worked with the client to envision an open, airy space that blurred the line between indoor and outdoor space, creating a natural invitation from the outside and bringing light into the interior spaces.

The aesthetic is clean and contemporary with the added addition of vibrant red accents that inject life and warmth, while reflecting the brand identity. Raw concrete contrasts sleek glass and soft neutrals to showcase the automobiles arranged throughout.

Boasting a double height main showroom, an 18-car vehicle display along with a café and lounge area complete the space. The café serves as a refreshment zone for both the public and the staff, while the lounge provides a natural place for gathering. All areas of sales and service, including sales offices and, second level administrative and meeting areas were designed with staff function and customer experience in mind.

Throughout, the design emphasizes quality and style with an approachable human touch and an open welcoming philosophy.
