Airport retailer Timeless Travel carries the finest selection of luxury watches at one of the world’s busiest airports, so an eye-catching store design was essential. This design, which has raised the bar in airport retail design, incorporates elements of both time and travel into the space to reflect the product and the surrounding environment.
Smart tackled the challenge of designing around a small space while ensuring that displays had adequate lighting, structure and dimension. Designers made great use of vertical space to maximize the small footprint inside and a bold statement on the storefront. Working closely with the brands, the construction team and a metal fabricator, Smart produced something never seen before.
Inside the store, two authentic aircraft cowlings were constructed using recycled materials from a classic 747, creating an impressive display for the brand’s product. This iconic element, which speaks to flight and evokes the form of the watch, instantly sparks the interest of passing travelers. Polished chrome on the cowling and sleek and modern finishes accentuate the gleaming watches from Longines, Montblanc and Chopard – just some of the brands that passengers can find while shopping at Timeless Travel.
