The Food Truck Festival combines Scandi design with urban street food at Oslo International Airport.
With the goal of creating an authentic experience the SmartDesign Group (“Smart”) in partnership with HMSHost drew from the edgy industrial Blå area of Oslo – where graffiti is a staple and food trucks congregate. This urban inspiration delivers a fun and vibrant atmosphere creating an engaging and immersive environment, differentiating it from your standard food court.
Our bespoke branded and custom designed mix of food trucks serve a wide range of favorites as well as some diverse food styles, with each individual brand expressing a cheeky, light hearted attitude and identity. Complementing the hip vibe of each brand, the overall area elements are a combination of industrial finishes such as corrugated metal and natural stone tile with elements that are true to Scandi design – a bold and fun colour pallet, geometric graphics and patterned wood elements – all adding to the energy of the surroundings.
Playful bright and bold furniture elements and custom table designs create the feeling of a casual outdoor patio with strands of bulbs hanging above the seating area enriches the atmosphere for added ambiance. The Food Truck Festival offers its guests a lighthearted retreat and a welcome escape from the typical fast-paced airport experience.
